They say that when you are pregnant there is a reason you don’t sleep, it’s the “baby” getting you ready for what’s to come. I don’t know if it’s that or the fact that I just can’t find a comfortable position to get in with this huge belly in my way! I feel the most comfort lying on my back, and guess what? That is the one position your doctor and all the baby books tell you is forbidden.
Apparently the pressure of your uterus can press on some important nerves and you can end up hurting yourself or the baby. So onto my side I go. I would never have made it this far without my snoogle. I like to call it anaconda. It’s a long body pillow shaped like a candy cane on both ends. You would think my husband would despise it, since it is putting a barrier between the two of us. But no, there are times when I wake up trying to readjust my position and there he is, all snuggled up to my snoogle.
I can’t help but smile, and then rip it out of his arms and go back to my side! Whatever the reason pregnant women can’t sleep, it just plain sucks. This is why I decided to write this article at 4 a.m. I’m up anyway. Oh, and I had to pee for the fourth time tonight.
When I was younger, I loved gymnastics. My heart loved it but my knees never did. They have always been weak. Even when I was eight, my doctor told me not to practice for a month.
Kristin Poundstone Baby Journal: Half Way There!
So I’ve hit the half-way point… 20 weeks (technically 21 tomorrow, I count every minute!). All the baby books and iPhone apps told me to celebrate… going out with my husband, getting a massage, etc. I celebrated by going to the gym and training arms and back. I am celebrating the fact that I can still move around and be active! There are women who are told they can’t exercise, not even walk and, in fact, some can’t even carry groceries in the house! I don’t know what I would do with myself, so I feel blessed.
Kristin Poundstone: The Most Challenging Yet Most Rewarding Journey Yet…
I was born on January 5, 1981 weighing in at 7 lbs. 15 oz. at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. I was raised in a loving family with an older brother and younger sister. My mom got me involved in dancing when I was just 3 years old and I continued to dance competitively until I was 18.
Fitness The Mary Stockbridge Way: Finding Myself through Competition
If you are like me, you are inspired by all the beautiful, athletic and supremely conditioned fitness athletes gracing the competitive stage. I am in my seventh year of dieting and training for competitions but it took me over ten years to actually take the plunge and start a fitness journey. Do not be like me and wait for that someday. I have learned and am still learning so much about myself. This really is a journey into oneself and the more I keep doing it, the more I keep growing from the inside out.

Wouldn’t it be nice if once contest prep started, we could just put ourselves in a bubble and not get sick, not have the grocery store run out of chicken breasts, and everything in life could just be wonderful and grand?

Stephanie Willes Walks Into the Pro Ranks: Starting off 2014
Hello 2014!!!
I can’t think of a better way to start off the year than to have contest prep well underway and my motivation revving at full throttle. So let’s take just a moment to catch up since I last posted a blog.
As I ended last year on a really good note, I had decided not to do my last show because I was in need of a break. After winning my Pro card, doing 2 Pro Shows, and dieting for 9 months straight I was ready to just relax a bit and enjoy some food.
