Mindi Smith Axed from FMG
had the pleasure of attending Lee Thompson and Tres Bennett's NPC Jr. USA here in Houston, Texas. During the show I heard a rumor that Mindi Smith (winner of the 2010 IFBB Phoenix Pro Figure this past February) had recently been suspended and would not be allowed to compete in the upcoming Ms. Figure Olympia. Photographer, Comic book aficionado, and Mindi's agent, J.M. Manion was in attendance shooting the show, so I figured who better to ask! J.M. sat his tukhus down right next to me and explained that Mindi had not been suspended, but actually had been dropped by FMG (Fitness Management Group), which he and his wife, Debra, own and operate.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the third and final Europa Show of the year-- the Europa Super Show in Dallas, TX. This is the largest and best attended of Ed and Betty Pariso's fitness weekends. Lately, I've been remiss in my role of gossip monger extraordinaire, so I decided to go a little meshuga this week and I sought out the finest gossip there was to be had.
This past weekend I was privileged to attend the PBW Tampa Bay Pro Championships. Tim Gardner did a excellent job putting on a fantastic show. He also provided me with the perfect hunting ground for top shelf gossip! A brocheh (a blessing) to you Tim!
I want to give a shout out to Shawn Ray, who told me he was a fan of the Yuckmouth Yenta column. He did, however, follow up the compliment with, "Just don't write anything about me in there." Well Shawn, I gotta at least clear up the speculation about your Martin Luther King-inspired"I had a dream. . ." post on MD. For those who aren't familiar with Shawn's recent fantasy sequence, it detailed a desire to return to the competitive stage, and what might happen if did so. During the intermission of the PBW Tampa Pro, I asked Shawn what the deal was... Is he really contemplating a comeback?

Milos explained to me that the police arrived at his Koloseum Gym and asked him to voluntarily leave since the gym was in foreclosure for failure to pay rent. Milos refused so the police arrested him for robbery and trespassing (since, technically, he no longer owned the gym). According to Sarcev, he was released without bail.
I just got off the phone with Lee Priest and his lovely wife Rhaine, and he gave me the scoop on all the drama going on with his supplement company, LPN (Lee Priest Nutrition). Apparently, because of some shady business practices, Lee decided to part ways with his business partner and form a new company--: Assassin Nutrition. The crazy thing is that his old business partner is still selling Lee Priest Nutrition products sans Lee Priest! Lee and Rhaine are currently working to have Lee's image and name stripped from the old line. Incidentally, Jerry Beck of Iron Asylum did all the artwork for the new Assassin Nutrition labels which feature Lee's back tattoo! Lee tells me all systems are still GO for his return to the stage November 6th at the IFBB Sacramento Pro! His diet starts in less than 2 weeks and he's sitting at a lean 225lbs. After the Sacramento Pro he plans to do both the Australian Pro and the new British Grand Prix!
